Project mission

Over the last 25 years approximately 24% of worldwide soils degraded. The impacts of the so called desertification are severe. Affected areas become infertile and lose their natural soil functions. With our project we actively combat desertification in Cameroon and thereby support the local population. In cooperation with the University of Bremen we developed a simple entrepreneurial approach. Biodegradable sacks filled with a mixture of compost, diverse substrates and of course plant seeds are placed on the affected fields. We empower people to manufacture and distribute the sacks within the framework of their own business. Water and nutrients can be absorbed easier and the soil gets his functions back sustainably.
